Energy saving analysis of natural cooling application in dual chilled water computer room air conditioners

In order to explore the energy saving potential of natural cooling application in dual chilled water computer room air conditioners in China,this paper presents an application system architecture of natural cooling of dual chilled water computer room air conditioners,and its operation modes are analysed.The comparative analysis model of dual chilled water computer room air conditioners and chilled water computer room air conditioners is established,and the energy saving calculation analysis of natural cooling application of the dual chilled water computer room air conditioners is carried out by using the equivalent compressor power consumption.The results show that the natural cooling application way of dual chilled water computer room air conditioners directly cooled by cooling towers has wide applicability.The energy saving effect is more prominent in regions where natural cooling can be fully utilized,and without considering the shortage of water resources,the energy saving ratio from high to low is in Northwest China,Northeast China,North China,the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau,East China,Sichuan,Chongqing,Central China and South China regions.And the energy saving ratios of the vast majority cities in Northwest China region exceed 80%.By adopting energy saving optimization measures,the energy saving effect of dual chilled water computer room air conditioners in South China region,where water resources are abundant and natural cooling sources are relatively scarce,can be further improved,with energy saving ratio improvement values of 14.1% to 20.5%.
